Sneak Preview of Cowboy Mike XI
Michael was on stage performing. He ran back and forth across the stage. Sabah was in the front row of screaming fans, waving her hands, calling out, trying to get his attention but he never once looked at her. She could feel the roar of the crowd behind her. He was looking at everyone but her!!!! Then she looked around. The crowd was made up entirely of women. Women of every shape, size and height. But every single person in the audience looked just like her! The Sabahs were chanting, Michael! Michael! Michael!! Their collected voices vibrated like a thousand bees buzzing in her ear.
Sabah woke with a start and realized that the phone in her hand was vibrating.
“Hello!” she answered quickly . . . and because she was still lingering in the world between reality and dreams, she started crying softly.
“What happened?” Kit asked her.
“I don’t know!!!!!!” Sabah wailed for what seemed like the hundredth time. “We had lunch at his house and then that was it. Maybe his mother said something to him.”
“But you said you only met her briefly. You don’t think they found out about” —
Sabah’s eyes opened widely.
