Just wanted to wish you a happy thanksgiving (if you celebrate it that is.)

    Hope all is well, sweetie!!!

  2. Sabine says:

    Hi Ladake! Thanks honey :bye:

Although I jokingly refer to it as the holiday when we celebrate how we stole America from the Indians, I do celebrate Thanksgiving.

I was away for the holidays; just getting back and wishing I took more food home with me

Hope your holiday was good and you have lots of good veggies!!!!

  3. ladake says:

My holiday was less so, simply because I had to work!

I was at my parents' home, tied my laptop the entire time. It was horrible.

I told my PM that regardless of where I go or what I do for the Christmas holidays, my blackberry and laptop will remain at home!!!

I'm glad you had a good time though.

I haven't chatted with you in awhile. I hope you're feeling better these days, and taking some much needed mental breaks.

  4. Sabine says:

Yes, sometimes we have to leave those electronic gadgets behind. I have a no Blackberry at the table rule from my daughter

I'm doing much better, thanks for asking!!!! Christimas is coming fast - always like there's something more to do.

I've toyed with the idea of writing a book: Surviving Christmas

    Sabine!

Just stopped by to say hi! I needed to see some beautiful Michael pictures to get through this crazy week at work!!

    Nancy

  6. Sabine says:

Hi Nancy, are you getting ready for the holidays???? There's nothing like a beautiful Michael pic to put you in the Christmas spirit! :swoon:

  7. nancycastelli says:

    Hi Sabine,
Trying to get ready!!! It is always such a hectic time of the year!! I usually host Christmas Dinner! When you have a growing family it gets hectic!! I usually have anywhere between 25-30 people. We are never ones to say no to anyone who may be alone for the holiday! So we have had even more at times!! That is when I thank GOD my husband is a chef! He usually prepares the meats, while I do the shopping, the appetizers and the sides!!! Wait I think I got the short end of the stick!! LOL! Are you getting ready for the HOLIDAYS?????

I think the hardest part is the shopping?? There are so many RUDE! people out there,!! I believe it is a time to be jolly and thankful for what we have....I guess more people relate to scrooge!!! Have a great day! I will check in again soon!! Any updates in the works?? I am anxiously awaiting them... NO pressure!! LOL :w00t:

  8. Sabine says:

    25-30 people! Nancy!!!!! :wassat:

Do you have room for one more! Just kidding!

that is so beautiful of you and your hubby. Since he's a chef the food must be mmmmmmm, mmmmm good. Yes, shopping, at least in NY is an experience!!!! That's why so many people shop on line, but you know feeling and touching the items, you can't beat that!

As for updates, girl you have to talk to my muse!!!!!

  9. nancycastelli says:

    Sabine,
I am in NY too!! What part of NY do you live? Sure you want to come for Christmas Dinner no problem it will be tight but we will manage!! LOL! Yes, I do some shopping on line but like you I like feeling and touching the items I purchase. 1

Awwwww, let me talk to your muse!!! looking for updates!!! LOL!

Have a wonderful Holiday if I don't get back before!!! I will definitely be on after the holidays....will need to recuperate after all the cooking, cleaning, shopping and wrapping!!!!

  10. Sabine says:

I'm sorry my muse couldn't deliver for Christmas really! But I just can't fake it, girl! I'm in Brooklyn, NY, I think you are too, right? We might have passed each other on the street and didn't know!

  11. nancycastelli says:

    Sabine,
Hope you had a wonderful Holiday! I am glad that it is over! I am recuperating from yesterday, but it was nice to be with family and friends. I am originally from the Bronx.. I used to be in Brooklyn all the time, I still go now just not as often! Love the bakeries and coffee shops..used to go clubbing there when I was single!! I still work in the Bronx though! I moved out to Long Island after my sons were born!
So, Yes we may have passed each other on the street and didn't know it!!

  17. Sabine says:

:thankyou: It means a lot because I meant every word that I wrote!!!! The system automatically boots off if you don't log in for a time, I think it's like three or four months, but I went ahead and restored your account

  19. crystalw says:

I'm enjoying the play list Sabine! I'm shamed to say some of the songs I never heard before. *twirls* :thankyou:

  20. Sabine says:

Ahhh, well, that's the best part right! I was so afraid with all this SOPA talk that my playlist would go bye, bye!

Sometimes i just let it play in the background while I'm doing other things! Michael couldn't make a bad song! :swoon:

  21. mjquandavis says:

hey gurl, i am back, & i had to save up some money and get me a laptop, but i have no internet access so im at mcdonalds lol (invasion of privacy much?) but its better than nothing, i swear no other website would make me want to buy a laptop, except yours... ( but its kinda gonna be sad for me with the loss of whitney right before it) :cwy:

  22. crystalw says:

Hey Sabine! How are you? I hope this wasn't asked before but did you ever think about getting an app for android?

  23. Sabine says:

    Hi Crystal,

Hope you're doing good. I know it would be super convenient for a lot of people, but last time I tried to do it, it shut the whole site down!

  24. ladake says:

I haven't been here in forever!

I was just reading your book again last night (I still adore that story) and thought about you.

Hope all is well and you and your fam are doing wonderful!

  25. Sabine says:

    Hey Ladake!

Long time . . . my internet was down for a few days and man you don't know how much you're online until you can't get online! I still think of this place fondly when I remember the good ol days. It was great while it lasted! Hope you are well, too :)

  26. ladake says:

Just checking in because of the frankenstorm. I know you're prepared!

    Stay safe.

  27. Sabine says:

Girl you are too sweet! I'm hoping they are making a big to do about nothing but we'll see won't we! It's nice and dry right now, if a big windy

  28. ladake says:

I just got back from getting food, batteries, flashlights, chargers, gas and cash.

The only thing I'm concerned about at this point is losing power. I'm PRAYING that does not happen.

But I already informed my parents that if I do, I will be taking that 3 hour drive south to stay with them.
I am not in the mood for this thing right now.

  29. Sabine says:

My sisters, mother and my children's dad are in Jersey, and they all lost power, parts of Brooklyn, did too. But I don't know who is smiling on me, but we didn't have any interruptions in service, other than transportation, which is out for anyone.

Girl, when NYC doesn't have transportation, you know that's a problem!

Hope you're safe and not alone, Ladake! Catch up on some much needed family time, that's the best thing about storms.

  30. ladake says:

Soooo glad to here from you!!!

Our area didn't really get anything. Praise God. No power loss, no flooding, no damage to homes or buildings. People were still out and about on Monday. (Though some dummies did put their garbage out on Monday with the wind still gusting up to about 50mph)

But I had already forewarned my parents that should I have lost power, I would have been taking the 3 hour drive to their home since they are further down south in VA.

I have fam in Queens that I just got in contact with yesterday, my cousin and his mom.

I was absolutely blown away by the devastation this storm caused - up and down the entire east coast. It's just terribly amazing.

  31. Sabine says:

    ladake:

Me, too! I'm always one to say, oh they're over exaggerating, and I even went out Monday after noon, took a stroll down to the promenade to see the river in all it's glory. i wasn't the only fool out there either! Walking back the wind was terrible but I still didn't think it would do much. The amount of rain that NYC took in was incredible, and to see the streets flooded looked like a movie!

  32. Sabine says:

p.s. I just know Im going to bump into you one day, and be like "Ladake?"

  33. ladake says:

    Sabine:
p.s. I just know Im going to bump into you one day, and be like "Ladake?"

    Ha!!!

I'll just have to let you know of the next time I'm in NY.

I'm glad you and your fam are safe.

They're already talking about another weather system next week. I pray that is not going to impact the northeast.

I also hope this isn't a preview of what's to come for the winter weather.

  34. Sabine says:

Really!!!! OMG, so exciting. We can have lunch? I know people are wary of meeting people off line -- I know I surely am, but I would so meet you for lunch
And I promise I'm not crazy or dangerous like the person stalking me said!

we survived the NOr-Easter, thank God, but I'm with you, I can't take anymore abnormal weather systems, I swear!!!

Except for the abnormal 64 degrees we had yesterday

  35. ladake says:

Stalking you?? This was a cyber stalking, right? If so I vaguely remember it.

I've never met anyone from online before.

I play at match.com but I chicken out before I actually meet a guy for a date. I think of the horror stories, but I know I really shouldn't do that.

... actually, you know what, scratch that. I do meetup.com, so I do meet people online, just not one-on-one type of deal.

Meetup is really fun in my area. One of my friends has a group here as well as in NYC too. I'll have to email you the name of it.

But yeah, I would SO meet you for lunch too!

And it's 2 AM, but I had a chai tea latte after 8 tonight, stupidly of course, and now I can't sleep! Thank God I work from home because I am not going to be any good in the morning.

OH! Did I tell you I bought my first home?

Hey, I bought my first home! :w00t:

  36. Sabine says:

OMG, congratulations!!!!!! Buying a home is a such a milestone event, not everyone can achieve it and I like that you said "first" home which means they'll be lots more to come!!!!!

Welcome to the world of mortgages home insurance and property taxes

So, Yeah, Ladake, cyberstaking, which people might think is not as scary as real live stalking but it is, because the person can literally follow you from site to site, research you and post things online that literally take on a life of their own and you can not know who this person is for like forever.

Thankfully for me, I am a great researcher and I was able to track this person down. I still don't know exactly who she is (though I know who she was affiliated with online) but once I outed her real identity and began writing about it where her "friends" could see, the stalking stopped. I think it was really a sick, sick person. A michael hater for sure but more than that.

As for Match.com, can I tell you that my experience with online dating is that 80% of the men are just looking for sex  and because of that and my cyberstalking experience, and the fact that for some reason like Michael I seem to attract sick people to me like the plague I'm scared to death of online to real life interactions, but I'm working on it!!!!

I'd love to have lunch with you though

  37. ladake says:

    Hi dear Sabine!

    Happy Holidays.

    It's almost Christmas. yay.

In 2 days... we might be enlightened. Double yay (Though it may just be like that whole y2k hoopla where all the "experts" look stupid as hell because nothing AT ALL happened)

Anyway, just checking in. I know all is well with you and your fam!!

  38. Sabine says:

    Hey Ladake!

Ha, we made it! I'm not sure how happy I am!! I like the idea of us being enlightened so much better than the end of the world, but I don't see any evidence of enlightenment yet! Do you? Christmas was so and so -- my family! UGh, but -- and I can't believe I'm saying this -- it's almost over!!!

  39. ladake says:

You're not snowed in are you???
