Michael, “All I Wanna Say Is They Don’t Really Care About Us”.
I think that this is an important video, with a lot of truth, and if one is open enough to listen to it without bias and without preconceived misconceptions, one can learn to see Michael, and the struggles he faced on this Earth from a different perspective.
“This was my first conversation with Michael. It was in the 80s, and when I talked to Brother Michael, he was in deep depression, and I said, “Michael, out of our pain, came our creative genius.
I said if it were not for the pain of slavery, we wouldn’t have spirituals, nor would we have blues or Gospel. All of it came from our pain. . . . I said let your pain, Michael, serve your creative genius, that’s all I said. After that, Michael came out with the album HisStory.”
Whether you like Louis Farrakhan or not, he is a prolific speaker and one cannot deny some of the things that he says. He speaks very honestly about Michael’s Vitiligo, his painful medical issues and his painful childhood, amongst other things.
There are six videos and they will play continuously. You can listen to it HERE
Michael was much more than a man of song and dance. Michael was a heart that beat for the love of humanity. ~ L. Farrakhan
Who is “us” — I can’t speak for Michael, or for Farrakhan, but as far as I’m concerned, spiritually speaking US are those who are spiritual, who are pro-humanity and them, are those who are not; who do not care one bit for their fellow man; who worship money and status and materialism. Has nothing to do with color.
“They Don’t Care About Us”
Skin head, dead head
Everybody gone bad
Situation, aggravation
Everybody allegation
In the suite, on the news
Everybody dog food
Bang bang, shot dead
Everybody’s gone mad
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
Beat me, hate me
You can never break me
Will me, thrill me
You can never kill me
Jew me, sue me
Everybody do me
Kick me, kike me
Don’t you black or white me
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
Tell me what has become of my life
I have a wife and two children who love me
I am the victim of police brutality, now
I’m tired of bein’ the victim of hate
You’re rapin’ me of my pride
Oh, for God’s sake
I look to heaven to fulfill its prophecy…
Set me free
Skin head, dead head
Everybody gone bad
trepidation, speculation
Everybody allegation
In the suite, on the news
Everybody dog food
black man, black male
Throw your brother in jail
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
Tell me what has become of my rights
Am I invisible because you ignore me?
Your proclamation promised me free liberty, now
I’m tired of bein’ the victim of shame
They’re throwing me in a class with a bad name
I can’t believe this is the land from which I came
You know I do really hate to say it
The government don’t wanna see
But if Roosevelt was livin’
He wouldn’t let this be, no, no
Skin head, dead head
Everybody gone bad
Situation, speculation
Everybody litigation
Beat me, bash me
You can never trash me
Hit me, kick me
You can never get me
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
Some things in life they just don’t wanna see
But if Martin Luther was livin’
He wouldn’t let this be
Skin head, dead head
Everybody gone bad
Situation, segregation
Everybody allegation
In the suite, on the news
Everybody dog food
Kick me, strike me
Don’t you wrong or right me
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don’t really care about us
“If it doesn’t get better for the least of us, then somebody still doesn’t care about us.” ~ L. Farrakhan

I just watched 17 clips, Louis Farrakhan is brilliant. I agree with most of what he’s saying. Thank you for posting this Sabine. And Michael always left a message. In 1987 Japan BAD Tour he wrote a message on the chalkboard. It said ” Make love your weapon to overcome any evil” I think that’s beautiful. And Louis and always said wonderful things about Michael. Michael touched a lot of people :) And at the end of the clip Louis told everyone that beauty comes from the inside not the outside and I’m soooooooo glad he said that “)
Hey Gem! Thank you for telling me that you appreciate the video!!!! I encourage people to be brave enough to watch it, then they will clearly hear and see what you’ve said — you know, Gem, Beauty & Brains, that is a lethal combination, and you’ve got a healthy dose of both.

I love this sermon; it always uplifts me to hear it, and no one, can ever dare say Louis Farrakhan isn’t both wise and perceptive person. He says the things that we won’t say, that we’re afraid to say, but we all know it’s true.
The funniest part of this video is when he talks about how much Michael didn’t like the way he looked; when he said, Well, he had some money, so he was working on himself. And then said, Some of ya’ll have the same problem . . . but ya’ll aint got no money.
OMG, :cheerful:
Because that is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TRUE!!!!!! But I love the spiritual references to the persecution that Michael endured, the fight he had to fight, and how he fought it; how he became spiritually mature and how much he did for humanity.
Wow. I heard some of the videos by Farrakhan you linked here. I must say I don’t like his ways but I like what he says. He looks to me as an ambiguous person for some reason because his body language is not peaceful as his words seem to be but… may be I have a prejudice about him for the old stories concerning Malcolm X’s and the suspects on Farrakhan for it.
Anyway I like what he says here. Thank you very much fo posting it.
By the way, did you see the movie “Get on the bus” by Spike Lee? It is about the huge march Farrakhan organized in Washington like the ones of Martin Luther King (and MJ helped with some donations but did not participate) and it is the story of a group of black men going there by bus. The movie is on racism that has no race and also people who think are not can be in a another way… very nice movie.
HI Isabeau. You’re so welcome!
You know, Farrakhan has just been painted as a bad guy by the media, just like Michael was; they only show what they want to show about him, to create the image they want. In fact he is a well read, intelligent man who speaks several languages, has been married for years, has a few children, and plays the violin beautifully. The stuff you hear is what they want you to hear. I’m not saying he is perfect and w/o fault, but who is?
MIchael certainly would not have looked to him for spiritual guidance if he was a bad person — oh, no wait. :wassat: There is Schmuley. Okay, scratch that.
I just think he says things that scare people and that people would rather not think about, especially in America where racism is so ingrained in our system and we would rather ignore it than talk about it.
You know, I didn’t see Get on the Bus! But it’s about the Million Man March, which was a beautiful idea and site to see. i remember when it was being organized and being sad that I couldn’t go.
All those men!!!! :w00t:
MJ was supposed to participate but back out at the end. I’m sure his advisers said Farrakhan was not a “good” person to align himself with.
Anyway, I love these videos. They are very spiritually uplifting, to me, and speak about MJ in a way that resonates with my soul.
Yeah… I thought about that, the media again… but anyway…it is not always easy to understand when a person ‘talk’ about spirituality and wise things if he is really, truelly good. There is a trick there that the ego plays and I had a very good experience about that in my life. The person might have the best pure intention but when the power gets bigger because he/she is very good and people give him/her that power and follow, the ego of the person inflate without him realizing it. In old times they called it ‘temptation’ and humility was the cure suggested. The educated people are even more in danger for that because the human mind is tricky and know how to tell good stories to itself and others. In the end is what the person does in ‘actions’ is what remains and can be strutinized by Time. The upper you go, the worst is the hight from where you fall, and that is true in all sense… phisical and spiritual sense.
The sound track of “Get on the bus” is the song sang by Michael “On the line” that is one of my dearest for the melody and the words… Once I danced it in my bedroom with my boyfriend… he likes it too :)
I forgot to tell you! Last night we finally had a very good and respectful show on tv about Michael.
First time… I was SO happy you can’t imagine…
It was even poetic in some passages, there were interviews to some famouse Italian people who knew him well (one was Pavarotti’s wife) and they all describe him… how we know…
They showed a little piece of the video while he turns into a panter while explaining that he was not ashamed of his race and defeded the bleack community. They talked a little also about the charity work that is very very unusual.
I went to sleep crying like a fountain because my heart was torn between relief, joy, sorrow and missing feeling…
Isabeau, this is the best thing I’ve read all week:
It’s soooooo true! I wish more people were attentive enough to realize this. I mean ego consciousness is something that seems to be the antithesis of being a good person, or staying that way, and as you described so perfectly, it can some times take over without the person even understanding what has happened or being aware. I haven’t spoken to many people who are even AWARE that this is a reality — I loved this part of what you said “the human mind is tricky and know how to tell good stories to itself and others” — boy isn’t that true?
You know what I remarked the other day, to myself? I was thinking, all life is are stories — stories we tell our selves, to each other about ourselves and others, about what has happened, what will happen. It’s just one big story!!!!
Here in America we have a saying, The mind is a powerful thing!!!! It’s true that humans will believe what they WANT to believe — I am always saying that. But the smarter the person is, the more they will tell you all the reasons that they are right — again, ego. And yes, spiritually, people who have that calling, they are more prone, because of the adulation, praise — well I can go on and on.
But i loved what you wrote and thank you for sharing that with me!
Plus, what you wrote about dancing w/ your boyfriend — soooooooooooooooooooo romantic!
I wished I could see the program you watched about Michael!!!!! They are hardly any producd that don’t become tabloidish in their descriptions of MIchael’s life and looks, and judgments about his choices  I hate that. I just want to watch an unbiased program, where I don’t have to be bombarded with negative personal opinions.
