Cowboy Mike XXII Sneak Preview!
The car pulled into the parking lot and Sabah hiked up her tight, dark skirt, careful not to rip the inch split in the back. As she stepped out of the car she caught a flash of gold in her peripheral vision. She didn’t know what made her notice it or what made her stop but something told her to turn around and look a little closer. Well, she did and it took about a half a second for her to recognize who it was that she was looking at. Jogging as best as she could in her high heels, she caught up with Melissa as she was sticking her keys in her car door.
“Excuse me.” Sabah called out, even before she had reached her. To Melissa, the clatter of her heels on the pavement were ominous. When Melissa didn’t answer Sabah called out a little louder. “Excuse me!”
Melissa hesitated and looked in Sabah’s direction but she didn’t stop or turn around to acknowledge Sabah in any way. If anything she tried to open her car door faster but Sabah had already caught up to her. She arrived at her side, slightly winded and gave Melissa a leveled look.
“Melissa, right?”
“Yes,” Melissa replied apprehensively. The last thing she wanted to deal with this morning was a confrontation. She tried to do so inconspicuously, but she couldn’t help but take in how Sabah was dressed and she kicked herself for pulling on an old pair of jeans, a dusty pair of sneakers and a simple T-Shirt this morning. Right about now she’d kill for some heels, if only so she could look Sabah in the eye. As it were, Sabah was dressed to kill in an obviously designer suit, tailored to accentuate every curve on her shapely body. If Melissa didn’t feel intimidated enough, the fact that she towered over Melissa in her two inch heels was even more daunting. The dark color and the simple lines of the form fitting skirt and jacket made Sabah look elegant while Melissa felt frumpy and unwanted. She came in hoping to catch a minute with Michael and though she knew he was there, he had avoided her like the plague. Thirty minutes she hung around and not once did he come out of his office, not even to say hi.
Sabah’s penetrating glance spoke for her, even before she said a word. Considering what had just happened, Melissa couldn’t help but feel small. She felt like hired help being cornered by a VIP business exec. And Sabah looked like she meant business, too. Melissa swallowed. It didn’t take a rocket science to guess what this conversation was going to be about.
“Sabah Graham,” Sabah held her hand out with confidence and Melissa hesitated before giving her a weak hand shake. Sabah’s grip though was firm, and as soon as she released Melissa’s hand she pinned her with an accusatory glare. Her tone though remained misleadingly disinterested.
“Um, what are you doing here?” . . . .
Meanwhile, the driver who had driven Sabah there peeped his head into Bill’s office. Michael was laughing at something Bill had said and Bill was still talking when he interuppted them.
“Heads up guys. Mr. Jackson,” The driver nodded at Michael respectfully. “Bill, Ms. Graham is here, and unfortunately she spotted a woman leaving – Melissa, right?” The driver glanced at Michael. When he saw Sabah run away from the front door towards Melissa, he made a mad dash for Bill’s office immediately. He knew who Sabah was and Melissa — well, she’d been sniffing around Michael for a couple of weeks now. “They’re in the parking lot, um, having a discussion.”
The guard wasn’t even able to get the last words out before Michael sat up in his chair. “What?”

I was just thinking abou that. I’m wondering if they will throw punches in the parking lot. Sabah is feisty so it wouldn’t really surprise me but I dont want her to do it. She has to be the bigger person here. She can do this with her words if done correctly so that Melissa will FINALLY get it through her thick skull Michael is not interested. I can’t wait for Melissa’s reaction.

I was just wondering the other day about Melissa and what happened to her, I thought you’d forgotten. I can’t believe the nerve she has to be hanging around Michael, I mean him and Sabah are very much strong and comfortable to be handling their own problems. I don’t think Sabah is worried about all those millions of women. Sabah has come a long way since all of that. She even found Michael’s Smooth Criminal video where he was getting cozy very comfortable. I mean being Michael’s girlfriend she has come to terms and reached a level of comfort that is very befitting as the girlfriend of Michael Jackson.
I think there is a difference between all those millions of women screaming for Michael who are his fans, than a single past ex-girlfriend Michael screwed who is just not letting go. That is what concerns Sabah. Those millions of female fans aren’t following Michael around like this, and Sabah could careless if they dream of having sex with Michael every day. Sabah can’t control that and doesn’t need to she trusts Michael. But Melissa certainly has got her attention and she will take care of her.
As for Michael looking at Sabah differently. I don’t see why that should change his view. He’s known Sabah for long enough now to know she is a lady, its only human nature to be concerned like this about someone following your boyfriend around. One’s perception of someone else shouldn’t change like that because of how they handles a situation. Sabah’s only human and she’s not perfect.

Not to good I’m assuming. Its not that he doesn’t trust Sabah but he will feel threatened. He can’t even accept Jonathan being gay and still sees him as a threat. I think that’s a bit hypocritical don’t you think?? Michael should step up and tell Melissa its over, and not lead her on. In a way I kinda blame Michael slightly like in that way. Michael slept with Melissa one time right? The whole dialogue between them when it happened made me laugh because he was so different with her. He was in a hurry. Well I know he would never hit anyone and its not about hitting or anything but it does still make one insecure. Everyone handles every situation differently, I mean at times if I put myself in Sabah’s shoes and came to know that Michael screwed Melissa that might change my perception of him as a gentleman and I might turn around to him and say if that if he could do that to Melissa then maybe he could do that to her as well. I mean that’s really not fair. All I’m saying is if Sabah was to lose control and hit Melissa that shouldn’t lower Sabah in Michael’s eyes. But agreed maybe Sabah should be nice to her. Believe it or not, I would even tell Michael if I was his girlfriend that “hey you didn’t do the poor girl right” and he owes her at least an apology. I mean I think as women we should stick together, that way Michael is happy, so are Sabah and Melissa and to me that is what a real lady does. I’ve always seen in situations like this women going at each other when if fact its the guy’s fault. In my husband’s case he never led anyone on so I can’t blame him for all those girls falling for him.
Sabah and Michael have grown together but I think insecurites still linger in the background for both. I don’t believe it’s a serious issue that will have them part ways. If the shoe were on the other foot there is no way Michael would approach the guy. He would be telling Sabah about his injustices and for HER to fix it and set the guy straight. I think Michael tried his best to let Melissa down easy. I can’t picture it being any other way than how it happened. He really doesn’t want to hurt her. It’s not because he’s in love with her. It’s his connection to the human condition. Some women would be really pissed off at that(being the girlfriend) but I find him more endearing to know that he really respects women that much. Yeah Melissa was just a physical thing and you know how guys can be but Mike isn’t that guy.

I love what just musicnmen just said. That he would want Sabah to se the guy straight. That’s what I just said. Michael needs to confront the situation up front. and he can’t keep avoiding Melissa like this because he doesn’t want to hurt her, in a way he has already done that. Yes Michael does respect women, and he’s not a guy like that, but I think in my opinion he did make a mistake and should at least put a closure to it. This isn’t fair to Sabah and Melissa. No one is perfect, and that’s why I said if Sabah was to do something to Melissa physically that shouldn’t change her lady like image in Michael’s eyes because of ONE incident. I mean he also made a mistake after all and got carried away.
The more I think about it, the more I feel sorry for Melissa. Actually I don’t think Sabha should be mean to Melissa at all. The poor girl is already feeling bad and intimidated because of how beautiful Sabah looks and probably feels so used. Michael is avoiding her and that isn’t very nice. What happens the result being, the guy not having taken responsibility it results in the his current girlfriend and his ex locking horns. Guys shouldn’t be allowed to get away that easily. I know Michael is a nice guy and this won’t tear them apart because they are too much in love for that, but he does need to step up.
Sabine I think Sabah should be nice to Melissa. It took me a few times to really step back and look at this with a cool head, but I hate situations like this where they guy gets away so easily. Melissa told him that she loved him, its too bad her love is one sided, but in life we don’t always get what we want. The least Michael could do is tell her she’s a nice girl and say sorry. If I was Sabah I would really have doubts if Michael would do that to me. Like you said if Sabah was to hit Melissa that would make Michael scared of Sabah. Well unless he wants Sabah to be doubting him because of this one incident, he shouldn’t change how he looks at Sabah as well. I really feel bad for Melissa now.

Melissa is not a child. Michael isn’t innocent here either. This is the way I see it:
Michael & Melissa= 2 consenting adults who wanted to have sex. Period.
The confrontation between Melissa and Sabah may be the final nail in the coffin (FOR MICHAEL) to be more blunt with Melissa. He doesn’t want Sabah to fix things or set the record straight for him with Melissa and I can bet my last dollar he would do anything to not have them speak at all. EVER! He would only want Sabah to “fix things” IF the shoe were on the other foot(him having to deal with another guy). This may be the best thing in retrosepct to finally close the curtain on Melissa. She is not a bad person. She did what many women would like to do. The whole parking lot potential exchange of words/fight could be a blessing for all involved. That is what I’m hoping for.

If Michael was my man I don’t think I could ever get over being jealous of other women around him. It’s not that I wouldn’t trust Michael it’s the WOMEN that I can’t stand. I agree with what Colette has just said also. I am of the opinion Melissa shouldn’t degrade herself like that by following Michael around. I’m not really looking at it like that “oh come on its Michael after all”. I’m sure for her was just any normal guy whom she gave herself to. Why does it matter whether its Michael himself or any other guy for that matter. I know this might come as a shocker to you ladies, but no guy is worth your tears and this kind of humiliation, not even Michael. Michael didn’t sleep with millions of women but he did with Melissa and she lost her heart to him. He needs to step up and take responsibility since the poor girl can’t take a hint.
I dont’ think Melissa is a bad girl or trying to deliberately break a relationship, but if Michael hadn’t slept with Melissa then she really deserves what’s coming to her from Sabah. But in this case there was something that went down between Melissa and him and he needs to with Sabah of course tell Melissa off. Its an unfortunate situation but there is just no way around it. The sooner they confront it the sooner they can all get on with their lives. All I’m saying is Melissa is not the only one to blame here. I went and thought about it for a while and I’d be angry at Michael also for playing her like that. If someone did that to me it would take me a while to get the message but I do agree its going to be hard and humiliating for Melissa but what to do.

Sabine I’ve not said anything about this for a long time, but why is everyone just blaming Melissa. I can totally understand Sabah’s insecurity. I’ve felt like this about this whole Melissa thing for a long time, I know it was a mistake both Michael and Melissa made, its only human Melissa can’t let go, but what’s the best course of action here?? I always thought that is so unlike Michael to do that. I can’t remember where I heard him saying this, but he also said that he avoided situations like this because of the pain it causes afterward and all that. I wish I could remember where I heard him saying this.
Your right Sonia, you shouldn`t let a guy just play you like that, make sure he really cares about you and it does save alot of pain in the long run, so it is also Michael who is at fault here, he needs to take responsibility and end it once and for all, it`s getting rediculous how desperate Melissa is becoming, for her own sake she needs to move on now before it becomes an obsession, because this could go on and on for God knows how long. You would think she would have got the hint by now, it`s becoming pathetic actually. Sabah is doing the right thing in confronting her and it`s Michael`s turn, they have to do it together, and that will drive it home, Melissa will have no choice but to back off. She should respect the fact Michael has someone else and be a woman about it and move on.

Sonia it was in the tapes with RAbbi Schmuley that Michael said how women know he’s not interested in them is when he’s running the other way.
He said he picks a girl he’s attracted to when he does videos and stuff because otherwise he can’t act sexy with them, but sometimes they get the wrong idea and how they know he’s not interested is when he’s running half way around the world to avoid them. He said he can’t tell them he’s not intersted because that would hurt their feelings.

Michael doesn’t like confrontation. Personally, I am not like that, so it’s not something I would do to another person — but Michael is. Like it or not.
Melissa needs closure or maybe she just thinks she can force her way. It’s not clear yet, but maybe it will be in this chapter.
I really don’t think though, to be fair to her, she looked as Michael as just any other guy. I mean, he is NOT just any other guy! He’s Michael freakn’ Jackson, as SAbah would say! :lol:

I read the chapter where Melissa is coming to the condo again (which was a brilliant idea, because of the chair and mirror scene), and I have to admit I feel still sorry for Melissa. I can see why Sabah is mad that she´s still around (out of insecurity or jealousy or whatever, you just don´t want an ex around) and I can understand if she is not going to be to nice to her. But I can also understand Melissa. I think that it wasn´t a total lie when she told Michael that she wants him to be happy, but he didn´t help her the least bit to let go. He seems to think if he ignores her, she will vanish and their episode will never have happened. How should this work for her? I doubt that she likes her desperate self, she just can´t turn the page on the past without confrontation and Michael hates confrontation. How difficult can it be to say something like: “It wasn´t ok to sleep with you knowing you love me and not having the same feelings for you and I´m sorry that I used and hurt you. But still I beg you not to sabotage my new relationship, please”? Maybe this would be all she needed to hear, instead of having a furious Sabah on her neck.
