It Takes One To Know One
This is a beautiful Interview with David Nordahl, featured on the Reflection of the Dance website. He is an artistic genius in his own right, speaking of his 20 year relationship with Michael. I suppose it takes one to know one. In his words we hear of a man who saw Michael as the intrinsically GOOD person that he was, who saw beyond the performer, beyond the image, to the heart of him. He says, amongst many other beautiful things
“He had these most incredible eyes. They come off good on film but nothing like in person. When you’re actually sitting across there looking at him, those eyes were unbelievable; There were times it would just stop me in my tracks and there were times I’d be around him where I’d kind of forget who he was and then it would dawn on me, “I’m sitting here next to Michael Jackson; I never really got over that. “
“It used to piss Michael off because he would say things like ‘I saw an interview with my hairdresser and she’s talking about me and my hairdresser doesn’t know anything about me!”
“He called me when Diana died over in London and he was just totally freaked out; He said, ‘That could have been me. He said, ‘We get chased so much,’ and he was so worried. He was worried the kids would have a terrible accident, so that’s why he kept the kids masked because he didn’t want anyone to know what they looked like.”

David Nordahl has captured Michael like no other has captured him and I’m just tickled to read that he was in awe of Michael’s stunning eyes as I was. Im forever jelous that he was able to gaze back. Sigh* Great article it truly warms my heart to know that he knew this man and have wondeful memories to share with us about him. I hope he continous to draw more of Michael in the near future. I love this piece above…it capatures Michael’s heart and spirit. Beautiful!
“Sitting and talking to Michael I would look into his eyes and I could see for 1,000 miles.”
Okay, that quote was more than I could handle.
I’m bawling my eyes out right now.
I cannot believe how much I miss him…I will NEVER get over him…
These are the kind of interviews I love to read — the ONLY interviews, accounts I have ANY interest in reading. The so
coldcalled friends of Michael who are interested in selling books, being in the spot light, and telling tall tales are no friends of his, IMO, and I don’t trust a word that comes out of their mouths. To me, this is what the truth sounds like  And as John Keats said:
‘”Beauty is truth, truth beauty,”
I  loves David’s Jesus beart Lol!!!! You know, Sabine, one of the difference you can tell between a person who is not a friend and a person who truly was is the gossiping quality of the information. In this interview David tells us all about all the things that a person who truly is interested in knowing about Michael wants to know. he talks about all the things that were important to him. when i read interviews that concentrate mostly on michael’s love life or how many women he was with or gossipy stuff; what they thought was wrong with him well, you know what i think? i think, that’s what was important to the person talking and that’s why they harp on it.
:cwy: EnolaLee, I understand completly, I truly feel Michael was snatched from us. I will never understand his death and the finality of it all. I miss his spirit and knowing he was here enjoying life. My heart will always be heavy over it. God knows I will love Michael to the very end. I miss you Michel Joesph!
I’m listening to this interview, thanks for putting it up Sabine, I didn’t know it before..
I love him so much right now and I truly believe I always will. I might not read fanfiction forever or listen to his music or look at pictures everyday or even think about him as often as I do now but loving him, admiring all the great things he did and just who he was has become an attitude, a way of life. It’s not going to change. And it was meant to happen.
Enola, that was one of my favorite lines, too.
:cwy:
Beautiful, beautiful interview, thanks again!
This is not minimizing in any way, but I think Michael was easy to love — it’s very easy to love someone who is so kind and beautiful and giving. Much harder to love someone like — gosh, I don’t know, Joseph,
But I suppose, at least for me, to me, in life that is the ultimate challenge.
Just thinking out loud. One other thing, I really liked that he said Michael asked him straight off in the first conversation, how was your childhood. I suppose Michael wasn’t looking to open up to anyone who didn’t understand his struggle, and I can certainly understand that.
Beautifull interview with David ,again , David mentions this light around and coming from Michael…other people close to Michael have mentioned that as well , I love the discription of Michaels appartment in LA in the late 80’s early 90’s. “you can stay with me but you have to sleep on the couch”
He is a true friend to Michael that is very clear!!!
Some of my ideas can be pretty unconventional and out there, but I shared this before, though I think it’s buried in some other thread, and I remember Gracie and I talked a bit about it, but when they talk about light, of course his eyes and other things, I don’t think it’s a coincidence. I truly believe Michael was a Crystal child:
The whole concept behind a belief in these “new” human beings (and also those who usher the way for them, Indigo children [Indigo children are here to challenge existing forms and beliefs, and Crystal children are here to teach empowerment and love.) is that the human conscientious is evolving and maturing, and that we are all growing as a species.
“One of the gifts of this transitional process, is that Humans are becoming aware of who they truly are: that they are Spirits in Human bodies.”
I always get excited when I read stuff like that, and I truly believe in my heart that this is one of the reasons that Michael was persecuted, because the world is not ready yet for Crystal children.
But the good news, I believe, is that we will be.
Wow Sabine… That is beautiful ! I never heard of the Crystal children before but now I believe Michael was certainly one of them. I have a friend like him too. She is nothing but kindness and love and very spiritual too. My mind immediately went to her when I read your explanation about the Crystal children. She is a true angel !
Ingridje, isn’t it just so beautiful???
If you have a Crystal friend you are very fortunate indeed, they are incredibly beautiful people and a joy to have in your life. My son is like this, and I often worry a lot about him, because he is very sweet and the world can be very cruel. But I suppose God is good because my daughter is NOT a crystal child! She is an Indigo child, the more I grow to know her, the more I’m convinced and more like me, (they are just as lovable and caring, but no one is going to pull a fast one on an Indigo child) I like to think that she will always protect him.
I wonder if Michael’s children are one or the other. Michael described Paris as strong, and that made me think she was more Indigo than Crystal, the way she spoke at his memorial, it was very brave, considering she’s never been in the spot light. But Blanket, I see a Crystal child in that boy. As they say, it’s the eyes.
Sabine , where did you get that info about Crystal children?I also noticed that David in the interview compares Michael to Christ , he states it very quickly in relation to the 2003 accusations, but I heard it.
I have always thought that as well , its uncanny when you compare the lives of Jesus Christ and Michael.
You want to be carefull I know with statements like that and I hope I don’t offend anyone … but there is definetely a paralel I would say.
We all know that Michael was divine of course   but seriously just compare their actions in life and how both of them were maligned no matter what they did and how much good they did….that brings me back to that light around Michael and not just his eyes but a spiritual light around him.
I need to know more about the crystal children
That’s very intersting indeed. And it reminds me of something: I actually “know” somebody who was in Santa Barbara for the trial in 2005, a German girl and her mom and once they even got into the courtroom because they had won in that lottery for the seats.
And she said on that day, during the break when everybody left the courtroom she tried to stay as long as she could so that she would be close to Michael and she actually managed to just walk in front of him when he headed towards the door. Even in that moment, in that terrible and frightning situation when he wasn’t well, she said, he had a light coming off of him that she’d never seen/felt with anybody before.
wow Cherry , that is very interesting ! well I believe it that is for sure!
There was/is something very special about Michael, I mean has there ever been anyone so known all over the planet EVER? I don’t think so!
I don’t think we have ever seen a human that well known in history…ever…yet he has remained so humble.
I am in awe
I love you Michael and miss you terribly
Oh, you can do a quick google and find it, but here’s a link: http://165.140.70.174/~cobracra/ui4
He’s not the only person that has said that. Minister Farrakhan did an entire sermon on it called The Cruxifiction of Michael Jackson right after he died, and I know he’s a controversial person, but I like Minister Farrakhan, he dares to say many things that people are afraid to say. And even though it’s controversial, I’m going to put it up.

Cornel West said that Michael was a messianic figure. There is no denying that Michael was persecuted for no reason whatsoever but being a good person.
Personally the only thing I think to be careful of is deifying Michael – Michael was not a God, he was a man, and it’s an awful burden for any human being to be put on a pedestal of perfection. Michael spoke about and against that all his life, the pressure of that.
Not only that, Jesus very clearly said we can all be like him — Michael just presented us with a perfect example of how to be Christ-like, and in that way he was like Jesus. But there are many Michaels amongst us, some of them not so famous, some of them can’t dance or sing, but still here with us. And some of them are suffering like he did, too.
And more importantly, we all have that light inside of us. That light is the light of God, and we just need to tap into it and start to feed and nurture it, so it can grow in whatever way it is to grow in us
When Jesus washed his disciple’s feet, right before he was killed, he explained it to them this way:
John 13:12-17
12After Jesus had washed his disciples’ feet and had put his outer garment back on, he sat down again.
Then he said: “Do you understand what I have done?
13 You call me your teacher and Lord, and you should, because that is who I am.
14 And if your Lord and teacher has washed your feet, you should do the same for each other.
15 I have set the example, and you should do for each other exactly what I have done for you.
16 I tell you for certain that servants are not greater than their master, and messengers are not greater than the one who sent them. 17 You know these things, and God will bless you, if you do them.
Amen Sabine!
:w00t: Gem!!!!!!!!
Love you   !!!!!!!
