Inexplicably sliding down your throat like icy cold molten lava, we struggled to formulate an adequate description. Fearing, because the drink was so powerful, that we would face multiple law suits if we put this volatile concoction on our menu we decided in the end it would only be safe to offer ONE drink PER PERSON per LIFE TIME. Ladies, ladies, before you protest, please try and understand: The Martini . . . shakes/stirs itself! (Cue dramatic music) ( O-O )
The Thriller
THE THRILLER — (Inspired by MJQuan) It sizzles, it pops, it dances in your mouth and then it gets down in you and makes you wanna dance, too. The raid was a huge violation….but that wasn’t the first time things were discovered. I read that some things in storage were held back that belonged to him Janet and Randy when they moved too or from HH. The manager was trying to charge them more than what they were supposed to pay to get their stuff back. Janet was the maddest, she had the most ‘stuff’….lol

Once again, I see you have discussed all the interesting topics while I am in bed sleeping. Not fair!
I was planning on doing a bit of gardening today, but it’s still a little too chilly outside for my liking, so I might as well just add my comments to the things you discussed last night.
Birth control…ah, yes…
I took the stupid pills for 8 years in a row after I had my daughter. They caused me to have frequent headaches. Since I stopped a few years ago, the headaches have gone. Somehow, I feel healthier and happier too.
Michael and Lisa Marie…oh, no…
Like the rest of you, I cannot claim to know much about their relationship. However, my lack of knowledge does not keep me from having an opinion!
From my point of view, it went wrong from the start. I remember reading that LM said she wanted to save him, and that she believed she could if she married him. I know what she meant of course (didn’t we all want to save him?) but still if you’re madly in love with someone and you have accepted their proposal wouldn’t you be saying; “God, I love him soooo much! I feel sooo lucky…” to anyone who wanted to listen to you? It would certainly be the first thing that came to my mind. I would hire a plane and tow a huge banner after it with the words: I AM IN LOVE WITH MICHAEL JACKSON – THE SEXIET ‘N SWEETEST MAN IN THE WORLD – AND I’M GOING TO MARRY HIM! YAY, LUCKY ME!
I know Michael was terribly disappointed with the marriage ceremony itself. He wanted a huge and romantic wedding but all he got was 15 minutes in a small office in the Dominican Republic. I don’t know why he accepted less than he had hoped for. Maybe it was easier, considering the hype a huge wedding would cause, maybe he could not wait to get his hands on her, or maybe it was something else.
There is no doubt in my mind that the prospect of having children was the most prominent incentive for him to get married. Of course, the lucky woman had to be someone special, someone who appealed to him on a very different level than other women. I cannot say he did not truly love her. Knowing that he was a true romantic and a bit old fashioned, I suppose he did. Still I am convinced that WHO she was also played a role. I think the prospect of having kids with Elvis Presley’s daughter appealed to him somehow. He may also have felt that they had a bond due to their somewhat similar problematic childhoods.
I read that her reason for not wanting to have Michaels children was the fact the she did not think he was ready. That he was not mature enough. Did she know this prior to the marriage? Or did she find out after the marriage? What was she looking for in that marriage? What made her do what she did? Who can tell?
So many questions – so few answers… However, I do have a vague suspicion that she was not looking for the same things as Michael.
Did he have a sex drive? Did they have sex? Take one look at him and there is your answer.
Yes, he had a stage personality, and a private personality, but do not tell me that they were not interrelated somehow. (Unless we’re talking split personality or something similar – NO WAY) I do not think you can pull of those sexy moves on stage if it is not in you somewhere. Besides, they were MARRIED – in Michael’s world that means you are allowed to have sex. So of course they did.
Arrrrrr, I do not like LM. I have already wasted too much time and space on her. It’s not just the fact that she let Michael down and sent him into THAT woman’s arms (well thank God it wasn’t literally into her arms), but there’s something in her eyes I don’t like. I have always felt that way. In my opinion, there’s more life and warmth in the eyes of a dead fish than in LM’s eyes.

Hey Enola, you know in Schmuley’s book I don’t get the impression that Michael wanted a huge, big romantic wedding, where’d you get that from?
Michael said he could never get married in front of his mother that it was too private and it was “mushy stuff” — IMO, I don’t think Michael, although he yearned for the love of the fans and loved to perform, liked the spotlight in his private life.
I think if Michael had it his way, they would maybe have done a Beyonce wedding maybe — very, very private ceremony with probably a few people, though the number to us would be unknown — I think that’s what Michael truly wanted.
More than that I think Michael just wanted a woman to love him and children to love.
Which brings me to the “saving” part — so co-dependent.

I remember reading it years ago in a Danish newspaper. It was before I went to his Copenhagen concert in 1997, so I’m guessing it might have been in a review of R. Taraborrelli’s biography in the early 90’s. I don’t know for sure, though, but I remember thinking about it at the show. I was hoping he would get a third chance. Third time lucky, you know. I was head over heels in love with my husband to be at that point and I really wished Michael the best. Being married to Debbie was a bit far from the best in my opinion.

Hi Sabine! You know, I think I may be biased or more skeptical about LMP because I think she was my age when she married Michael -now don’t say that LMP was 8!-, although, yes, I know she was already a mother and had had at least 1 marriage. I agree with the fact that she probably wanted to “save” him, I don’t really know if she married him with this in mind or if she felt like actually could succeed on that; but maybe Michael awakened that feeling, this saving or protecting urge, in a lot of people surrounding him. But what I mean was that, being her quite young (and proud), and probably being enchanted by her (not saying that he did nothing on purpose, maybe yes maybe not, but I was talking here about his charisma) I understand what she said (I think) that she fell for him and for his “world”. I think that, enchantment and magic apart, she was in love with him and I’m not defending her at all! I think, IMO, that she did a lot of things wrong, like not letting him participate in the childs or not childs decision, e.g. And yes, again, if the real reasons for that marriage were not simply and only being in love, it was doomed (I’m not saying they weren’t in love, but I think she deep inside wanted to marry him in order to save him, and he wanted to marry to form a family and have children with her -I guess this is a more than licit reason-; and they probably thought they were getting married because they were SO in love… yes, but there were other reasons and even themselves weren’t really consciously awared of it).

I agree, that maybe and probably her agenda to save Michael was unconscious, but hindsight is 20/20, and after it is all said and done, rather than reflect on her behavior and learn and grow from it, to me she made excuses for herself and blamed Michael for her choices, as if he had any “real” power over her.
It may be true that she felt like he had power over her, and that she felt like she was being “sucked” into his own world.
but the real truth is that she allowed that to happen, that she in fact, because of her own needs and issues, was drawn to him and in many ways created that reality for herself.

I totally agree! I just would have been happy to hear her say that, without any bitterness or blame, you know, to own it.

Oh I want to add too, about the child decision issue, as a woman, believe me, I support a woman being in total control of her body and not making sacrifices with it for anyone.
But (I am saying that a lot this morning) :lol:
I think we need to be conscious of our choices and what effect they may have on others. IMO, if you agree to be in a relationship, it’s not just all about you any more, there should be a constant flow of give and take, and certainly you can say, for example, I don’t want to have kids, I’m not ready; or I don’t want to use this type of birth control.
Everyone has the right to make choices.
But so, too, it should be recognized that the other person has the right to make choices, too, about what they want to do with their body and what they will not except or will not compromise on.
And I think sometimes women forget that, and think that a man is obligated to behave in certain ways or should do this or that; I think when women do that, it’s setting yourself up for disappointment.
Realistically, LMP, for example, should have realized that if she withheld what from Michael what he so desperately wanted, that he would go and find it somewhere else.
This is aside from the right or wrong of it — that’s just human nature. We all want to get our needs met.

You know, I like the unreleased version better. To me it’s so soulful and I don’t know, I hear longing in Michael’s voice but it’s sweet. He said Quincy wanted a faster song and that’s why he didn’t use that version, but I like it better. It’s on the playlist, if you never heard it.
James Ingram who wrote PYT tells a funny story about when Michael recorded it. He said Michael liked to record with all the lights off, and so the stuido would be pitch dark. He said that most artists, they sing close to the Mike , trying to make sure they record every single note and that they get it perfect.
He said Michael liked to dance and so you’re looking and it’s pitch black and you see nothing, and then when he starts singing, all of a sudden a head pops in front of the mike. And he said Michael is singing his heart out, he aint outta of breath or nothing! And he’s hitting the notes without a problem even though he’s dancing like mad!
Then he said Michael came out afterward, breathing all hard and sweating and said, in his sweet voice, “How was that? Was that okay?”
And James was like, “Man, do your thing! You got it, it’s great!”

I’m only trying to emphasize that I don’t think any artists works well under pressure or when they are being told what to create.
Case in point: I enrolled my son in a sculpting class in a museum. this is after watching him make little monsters out of my foil paper after I told him a million times not to touch it. I was like Wow, this is really good.
I thought he’d get a kick out of it. Seven weeks, four hundred dollars later — I don’t want to even show you what he made!!!

I guess I didn’t sound right on what I meant. Michael was a VERY SEXY GUY!! NO DOUBT! He had a normal sex drive and all, but what I meant was that he wasn’t a raunchy guy like Jermaine who just goes and spreads his fire everywhere, except on stage.
:biggrin: :wink: PF….I have 2 jars of vaseline in my home, and girl let me tell you they ain’t for what some people use them for. Like Sabine said vaseline has a number of reasons. Those jars are several years old, and I use to use it for diaper rash on my daughter. Who knows Michael may have it for the same reason, he’s got kids also. There was a time when I would slap a bunch of it on my face before going to sleep and wake up with really smooth skin in the morning. Maybe Michael used it for cosmetic purposes.

Enola….I agree with much of what you have said also, so I won’t say it again. I’ve spoken enough on this topic. I think LMP just wanted to save him and marriage was the only way to do it, and yes she was taken by him. Who wouldn’t be taken by Michael, and if NOT, there is something seriously wrong with them. As far as Michael is concerned, he loved everyone so why NOT LMP, but he wanted to have a family and everything with her, but it didn’t work out. I think he seriously mistook friendship for love. Like Enola said everything just went wrong from the start. It was a marriage built on a very weak foundation and it failing was inevitable.
That whole raid on Michael’s home was very much uncalled for, PERIOD!! God knows what they were looking for. I think in the end, they were just out to get him that’s all. I sometimes wonder if those families were working hand in hand with some of those people out to get Michael. God anything is possible. Lately his sister Rebbie has been saying that there is more going on with his death than meets the eye, but we will have to wait. I agree there were more people involved.

I just wanna say I agree with Sabine, I too think its the woman’s final decision to do what she wants with her body. Nobody can make her have children if she doesn’t want to. But making a promise and then backing out isn’t right. Like Enola said, what was LMP looking for in a man that she only realized it after the marriage. To tell you all honestly I can’t stand people jumping into a marriage like that not being clear in their own minds about what it its they want. How can you know what you want from someone else, when you yourself don’t even know what you want from yourself. I agree with Enola and I’ve said this many times, Michael was probably taken by LMP because she was Elvis’s daughter and they had similar upbringings. But that doesn’t mean she was right for him. I could meet 20 guys with similar backgrounds as me, but that doesn’t mean all 20 are right for me. But what is done is done, I do feel both of them should have thought it over. Michael was way too nice and intelligent for LMP. Both his wives wanted to possess him instead of love him unconditionally and I think that is what caused him to go away from them, what a shame.

Michael loved on a higher level than most people, so that’s why he was misunderstood. The one thing that was obvious to see was his deep and profound love for children. He was always around them, and talking about them, so it was more believable to accuse him or molesting children than say a woman. It’s like Prince Michael, he loves children, but he has a MASSIVE sex drive but just keeps it under control but doesn’t go around raping women. He loves children, so the people that were out to get him and I personally believe this, that these families may have been working together especially the second family, with some of these people who wanted to bring Michael down. It’s like if we can’t get him with the women, might as well with the children. Of course they turned it into something sick!
